If a student has limited to no interaction to work-based experiences, their confidence and self-efficacy as it relates to the workforce will be underdeveloped. In fact, lack of exposure to the workforce and early unemployment creates a high risk of unemployment later. In addition, it poses huge financial and societal challenges to the competitive advantage of America. foundation44 partners with community businesses to develop a job shadowing program that links students with local community members working in professional and technical occupations to have an up-close look at the world of work and arm them with an acute understanding of the demands of both the professional and technical workplace.
