Pursue The Dream
This comprehensive program has been designed to assist any 11th or 12th grade student with the college admission process. Using common teaching practice of backwards planning, our instructors first engage participants in a discussion concerning their projected income needs. After gathering that essential information, we then begin to explore careers and various career sectors. This is then followed by selecting majors and universities that will allow each student an opportunity to pursue their dream. During the course students will also sharpen many of the requisite skills required for college success through various activities such as critical listening and thinking; we will also focusing on independent research and writing. After ensure each student is admitted our attention then focuses on paying for college. All of our participants and their families will be guided through the financial aid process and customized scholarship searches will be performed. Moreover students will have the opportunity to work with their facilitator to polish scholarships essays so that they may have the most refined final copy possible. The last and equally powerful component of our program is our commitment to involving the parent. Our facilitators will stay in regular contact with the families keeping them abreast of the progress being made. Our three parent workshops, which are embedded in our curriculum, make certain that the parents are also prepared for their student moving into college. To date 100% of students who have successfully completed our program gained admission to a four year college or university.
